Can I install my lamp post over an existing wood or metal post?

Vita recommends that you install our vinyl lamp post over a 4x4 pressure treated wood post and if you have one in place you can certainly use this for your new installation. We understand adding wood inside the post isn't always an option especially if you have an existing round metal lamp post already in place.

In order to make your Vita lamp post secure, you will need create a 90 degree angle on your existing metal post in order to attach the outer vinyl lamp post sleeve from your Vita kit in place with screws. Consider using pressure treated wood or a similar material to create a frame around the base and/or top of the post that you can use to secure the vinyl post sleeve to.
